RUFF was born 30.01.1967 in Switzerland but originally he comes from Italy.
He came into music interest since he was thirtheen and began his acknowledgement into music business in the branch called as avanguardistic electronic music.
This choice gave to him a mayor influence such as the music style he has actually.
As producer the music movement such as the 70's Punk or the New wave and also the Techno-Pop has influenced a lot to the future interest of the man.
The dream of many young guys like him at fiftheen was to grow up a Band and after buying many instruments, the first one was a Casio CZ 101 at fourtheen years old, in 1987 together with some other friends interested to Electronic Music formed a Band and they called IN A LOW VOICE.
Influenced by the Techno-pop sound of Depeche Mode, the Band first played covers from the mythic Band but afterwards they decide to produce themselves a properly style of music and in 1989 they recorded a Demo Tape with a nice regional success plus some concerts in the south part of Switzerland and northern Italy.
After some professional troubles the Band separates and as heritage they recorded a beautifull cover of Joy Division's - A means to an end. The song was succesfully played in the national radio as tribute to Ian Curtis.
Ruff started a solo career and build up a recording studio.
The results are some nice productions between 1993 and 1997 under the name ELECTRO PLASMA and the music style is much more Techno-Breakbeat oriented.
