The sentence “ … My heart yearns to speak”, from the track „Space For Words“ on her debut album, „Reflections Of Love“, probably best embodies the refreshing honesty and captivating beauty one hears and feels in Newbridge’s music. An organic eclectic mix of Jazz, Folk, Afro and Soul in which she is able to express herself in the most honest and effortless manner – that’s Newbridge.

She didn’t want to restrict herself to one genre - she wanted to try out different things. With this in mind, she played in small jazz formations and experimented with Trip-Hop and finally, in 2007, she joined the Winterthur Funk & Soul band, the Funky Friends. They gave her the chance, not only to gain valuable stage experience, but also to contribute song material to an album for the first time: the Funky Friends debut album, “Kizumbombo”.

Newbridge left the Funky Friends in the fall of 2008 to be able to devote time to writing her own album in South Africa, and to draw inspiration from South Africans and their country.
The planned 6 months turned into 2 years in which her debut album “Reflections of Love” came into being.

Back in Switzerland, she formed her own band comprising guitarist Tobias Müller, (contra) bassist Christoph Pinter, keyboarder Florian Baumann, drummer Lukas von Büren and background singers Rosie Anna Maier, Kathrin Bünzli and Mei Siang-Chou.
This first class band captivates audiences with their mellow sound loads of Soul and Afro, interchanging instrumentation and songs with vivid lyrics and melodies.
